SharePoint Training
BPMB believes a successful SharePoint implementation includes training to leverage the investment made in SharePoint technologies. Organizations should know how to maintain and manage their website content without relying on technical support staff, and feel confident that they have the skills and knowledge to do so. To this end, we have leveraged our 10 years of experience in delivering corporate solutions to create several end-user training courses for SharePoint. Each course is tailored to the specific customer's solution. Courses are typically hands-on and in most cases attendees work on a site identical to the production site to gain as relevant experience as possible.
SharePoint Collaboration for Contributors: this is a half-day course intended for people that will use SharePoint collaboration sites but are not be involved in the design aspect of the site. Attendees will learn to:
- Navigate a SharePoint Site and understand the site structure
- Create, Upload, Edit and Delete documents
- Create, Upload, Edit and Delete List Items
- Use Check In, Check Out
- Understand and use versioning and versioning history
- Participate in and use workflows
- Create and use views and filters
- Use search to find items
- Set alerts for lists, libraries or items
SharePoint Collaboration for Site Designers: this is a one day course intended for people that will build and manage collaboration sites. In addition to the skills learned in the SharePoint 2007 Collaboration for Contributors course, attendees will learn to:
- Create a SharePoint Site
- Create Lists and Libraries
- Configure List and Library Settings including versioning control, workflows, content approval, views and advanced settings
- Add and manage web parts
- Modify the navigation
- Manage Site Permissions
SharePoint Web Content Management: this is a one-day course intended for people who will create, edit, publish and manage content for an Internet/Intranet site in a SharePoint Publishing Site Environment. Attendees will learn to:
- Navigate and understand the Site Structure
- Create, edit, and publish web pages using the available content types and layouts
- Create page content including:
- Styles and formatting
- Hyperlinks
- Images
- Tables
- Upload documents and images
- Approve and Reject web pages
- Schedule pages to go live on a specific date and/or be removed on specific date
- Use version history
- View reports for draft pages, pages pending approval, and others
- Use tools to check for unpublished items
- Use the Content and Structure window to manage content and settings
Custom Administrator Training: This training is intended to provide administrators with the knowledge and skills to manage any aspects of their site that are customized or specific to them and that would not have been taught in a public course. Typically, this type of training is less formal than the content management training and is often hands-on, and may occur at different intervals throughout the project and development process.
